How it was made
- Rutger Hauer rewrote his own tears-in-rain speech and brought it to Scott on set shortly before it was filmed.
- Casting Pris and Rachael required several screen tests, with actor Morgan Paull reading opposite the candidates as Deckard; his performance in those tests won him the role of Deckard's fellow bounty hunter, Holden.
- Hy Pyke's performance as bar owner Taffey Lewis was completed in a single take, almost unheard of given Scott's habit of shooting well into double-digit takes.
- Test screenings led to several late changes, including the addition of a voice-over narration and a happier ending, along with the removal of a hospital scene involving Holden.
- Crew members made T-shirts mocking Scott's comparisons of American and British crews, prompting a T-shirt of his own in response and giving rise to what became known on set as the T-shirt war.
