How it was made

Netflix acquired the Roald Dahl Story Company for $686 million in September 2021, a deal that paved the way for Anderson's adaptation of the story.
Principal photography began at The Maidstone Studios in Kent, England, in January 2022.
Although initially reported as a feature film, Anderson clarified in June 2023 that Henry Sugar would instead be released as one of a collection of short films.
