How it was made
- Composer Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo scored the film, as he had for several other Anderson productions, while the soundtrack also draws on instrumental library pieces composed by Sven Libaek for the 1970s underwater documentary series Inner Space.
- Seu Jorge, who plays the character Pelé dos Santos, performs David Bowie songs translated into Portuguese on acoustic guitar, singing some of them live and in character during filming with lyrics altered to reflect his own experience on the production.
- It was the first Wes Anderson film not to feature a Rolling Stones song on its soundtrack.
