How it was made
- The aerial firefighting sequences combined real flying with rear projection and scale models; two Douglas A-26 Invader bombers were flown by film pilot Steve Hinton and their owner, Dennis Lynch, for the low-level fire runs.
- Real footage of Yellowstone National Park's 1988 wildfires was incorporated into the film's fire sequences.
- Around 500 residents of Libby, Montana were recruited as extras to play wildland firefighters during the Kootenai National Forest shoot.
