How it was made
- The film's first assembled cut ran two hours and 40 minutes; because Tarantino was considered 'untouchable' after Pulp Fiction and Robert Rodriguez's segment was shot with almost no coverage to trim, only directors Allison Anders and Alexandre Rockwell were pressured by Miramax to cut their segments down.
- Bruce Willis shot his role in two days without pay as a favour to Tarantino, which meant his performance went uncredited under Screen Actors Guild rules.
- Steve Buscemi was originally slated to play the bellhop Ted before the role went to Tim Roth.
- Bob Weinstein had Anders's segment recut by the studio without her knowledge, prompting her to refuse to promote the finished film.
- Miramax presold the film's Japanese distribution rights to Shochiku bundled together with four unrelated titles in a single bulk deal.
