How it was made

Kill Bill was shot and edited as a single film; executive producer Harvey Weinstein, known for pushing directors to trim their work, suggested splitting it in two after editing had already begun, with the decision announced in July 2003.
Tarantino deliberately withheld most of the Bride's character development for the second film, saying he wanted her to read as "scary" rather than sympathetic in the first instalment.
The score was composed jointly by filmmaker Robert Rodriguez and producer RZA, set against a soundtrack drawing on Ennio Morricone, Meiko Kaji and Luis Bacalov.
