How it was made
- Tarantino kept the only copy of the script's third act locked in a safe; DiCaprio, Robbie and Pitt were the only other people who read the complete screenplay, and Pitt said the sole other copy was later burned by Tarantino.
- Despite Tarantino's aim to recreate 1969 Los Angeles without computer-generated imagery, the production ended up using more than 75 digital visual effects shots, mainly to remove modern billboards and erase non-1960s buildings from driving shots.
- Production designer Barbara Ling's team covered the Pussycat Theater's LED signage and rebuilt its original neon lettering by hand, and reproduced Larry Edmunds Bookshop's original storefront sign along with period-accurate stock, including recreated book covers.
- Tarantino wrote five episodes of a fictional 1950s Western television show, Bounty Law, purely to develop his understanding of the character Rick Dalton, who had supposedly starred in it.
