How it was made
- Spielberg used the real audio tapes of Nixon's White House recordings rather than a voice actor, showing the president only in silhouette.
- Screenwriter Josh Singer was brought in to rewrite the script just ten weeks before filming began.
- Spielberg worked on The Post while simultaneously finishing post-production on the effects-heavy Ready Player One, a scheduling situation he compared to concurrently producing Jurassic Park and Schindler's List in the early 1990s.
- Composer John Williams, in his 28th collaboration with Spielberg, mixed traditional orchestration with what he called “very light, computerised electronic effects,” and Spielberg said he attended the recording sessions having heard none of the score in advance.
